The city of Zhuhai was one of Deng Xiaoping's original "Special Economic Zones," adjacent to Macau in southern Guangdong Province. Mao Zedong's official airplane, a British made Trident, has been on display there since 1999. It's now for sale.

According to the AP, "We decided to sell the plane to make more parking space because we are short of parking places," Wang Zhilei, the manager of a shopping mall there, said.

Tim Johnson notes in China Rises, that as of earlier this year, "...modern China has lived for more time under the reform and opening up era than under Mao’s era."
