Let's see if you can guess this week's quiz with a couple of clues. This landscape is just outside a mountain pass connecting the more populated east coast to the much wilder west coast. Both the pass and a tiny village about five kilometers away are named after Sir Arthur Dudley Dobson (1841-1934), who was a surveyor. The Bealey River runs through the village.
The island nation in which this mountain range is located is sparsely populated, diverse in natural beauty and a world-renowned hub of adventure travel. Can you name the country? For extra credit, the mountain pass?
The answer is after the jump.

These are the Southern Alps of ..................................................................the South Island of New Zealand. The pass and the little town are both named Arthur's Pass. The town's population is 54.
