Theoneste Bagosora, in charge of the Hutu-dominated army and police when a missile brought down the airplane carrying Rwandan President Juvénal Habyarimana in 1994, was convicted of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes yesterday, for instigating the melee. As many as 800,000 mostly Tutsis died in the ensuing mayhem, said to have been long planned by Habyarimana.
