I'm a fan of Turkish Airlines. A mostly clean, new fleet, efficient service, and a far-flung network, flying to exotic lands. Combine Turkish and Austrian and you can reach just about everywhere in Eastern Europe, the former-Soviet world and the Middle East.
Austrian already flies 4x/week to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. Now USA Today reports that the Turkish news agency Anatolia reports that Turkish will join Royal Jordanian with service to Baghdad. They say the first flight will be 26 October, with service thereafter three times a week — on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
You can book your seats to Erbil online at Austrian.com, but as of this morning, there's no evidence of Iraq on the Turkish Airlines site.
There are 332 photos in the Turkey Gallery on EarthPhotos.com.
One day when there is peace in Baghdad i would love to visit that city which is literally 1000 years old. but for now i will check turkish airline deals for istanbul.

Thanks for visiting Common Sense and Whiskey.
Our last trip on Turkish was in business on an e-ticket booked direct online at thy.com, CDG - IST and everything worked perfectly without a travel agent.
We'll probably use thy.com via IST into or out of Bishkek and/or Almaty next summer and will book without an agent.
