This blog enjoys poking around for way-off-the-beaten-track travel destinations. It's not terribly likely that Mom and Dad will pack up the kids and head off for a family vacation in Macau. Neither, we think, do many plan an itinerary around the unlikely coastal triumvirate of Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana, down in South America.
But maybe we should.
Thanks to Piotr Naskrecki, who shot this ant, and Mongabay.com, we get to see some great pics of newly discovered species in a rain forest in eastern Suriname. There are several more with the article.
